DoD Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Tag Program Effective 14 November 2005, DoD Contractors must affix Passive RFID tags at the case and palletized unit load levels and submit advance shipment notices via the Wide Area Work Flow to permit association of the RFID tag with the corresponding shipment. Details of the phased implementation of this program can be found at: https://www.dibbs.bsm.dla.mil/Notices/msgdapl.asp?MsgId=33 |
The following options are available for your company to meet as well as exceed the DoD RFID mandate:: |
· To provide on-site (reader) final verification of tags prior to shipment, we can add the Symbol MC-9000G with RFID hand held computer. In addition to verify the readability of the pre-programmed RFID tags on your loading dock, the device can write or rewrite RFID tags as required. |
· To provide greater control of the process, , we can provide a Zebra multi-protocol RFID-enabled R110Xi printer (R12-741-0000) with a starter kit of labels & ribbon plus the Zebra Design Pro Software with RFID capabilities. · This RFID enabled printer can also be used to upgrade / replace bar code printers used on existing systems. |
· A recent University of Arkansas research study indicates the Wal-Mart passive RFID implementation resulted in a 16% ROI. · Our offering includes RFID hardware from Symbol and Zebra Technologies as well as supply chain and asset management software from Seeburger. We can help meet your specific requirements from site surveys through final implementation. |
· For less than $3.00 per tag, we’ll program and write (pre-verify) the appropriate DoD construct information to your tag including appropriate filters designating tags as a Case or Pallet format and express courier the tags to you. · Tags can then be peeled off the backing and applied to your shipment—A true slap & ship process. · For a nominal fee, we can design your smart label with various options including printing minimal RFID codes on the smart labels in human readable or in 2D barcode format. This information can then be entered on the DoD Wide Area Workflow (WAWF) system on the internet to meet the DoD advance shipment requirement. · For greater efficiency, we can also design your military shipment label on a pre-programmed RFID smart label.
